The state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan are the official symbols of the independent state, reflecting its history, culture, and national identity. These include the State Flag, the State Emblem, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Constitutional Law “On State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan” was adopted on June 4, 2007. In accordance with this Law, June 4 is celebrated annually as State Symbols Day in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
State symbols are one of the essential attributes of any state, embodying its identity and sovereignty. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, the state symbols are the State Flag, the State Emblem, and the National Anthem.

The National Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Description and History

The National Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a rectangular blue panel with a sun with rays in the center, beneath which is a soaring eagle. At the flagpole is a vertical stripe with a national ornament. The sun, its rays, the eagle, and the national ornament are gold. The designer of the National Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Shaken Niyazbekov.

The State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Description and Meaning

The State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is circular and depicts a shanyrak on a blue background, from which rayed uyks radiate in all directions like sunbeams. To the right and left of the shanyrak are images of mythical winged horses. At the top is a three-dimensional five-pointed star, and at the bottom is the inscription “Qazaqstan.” The star, shanyrak, uyks, mythical horses, and the inscription “Qazaqstan” are gold.

National anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan: history and text

National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The anthem of Kazakhstan, formerly known as the song “My Kazakhstan,” was approved by the country’s Parliament on January 6, 2006, at the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It was first performed on January 11, 2006, during the inauguration of the Head of State.
